WASHINGTON – Weapons supplied by America to Ukraine had a major impact on the Kiev war effort against aggression Russia . That’s what the Department of Defense claims United States of America (USA) or Pentagon .

The US has provided Ukrainian forces with eight of 142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, known as HIMARS , which allows launching a number of precision-guided rockets. The US has also pledged to send an additional 4 HIMARS.

A senior US Department of Defense official said at a briefing at the Pentagon on Friday that weapons systems have a significant impact on what happens, on the front lines.

The weapons can hit targets at a greater range than the M777 Howitzer, which the US also provided Ukraine. Since their dispatch, Kiev claims to have carried out a number of successful attacks against Russian forces using the system.

The unnamed Pentagon official said that Ukrainian forces spend a lot of time striking targets such as munitions, supplies, other logistical supplies, command and control which has a direct impact on the ability to conduct operations on the front line.

“Even though they didn’t shoot HIMARS on the front lines, they had a very, very significant effect,” the official added, according to the US Department of Defense. NewsweekSaturday (16/7/2022).

Newsweek has contacted the Russian Ministry of Defense for comment on this claim.

This week, Ukraine said it had killed another Russian commander after a HIMARS missile hit a Russian command and control center in the southern Kherson region.

On Thursday, Kiev said HIMARS was used to destroy a second Russian ammunition depot in the city of Nova Kakhovka, in the same region.
