US replies, Putin bans vice president Kamala-Zuckerberg from entering Russia forever

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Russia imposed a travel ban on 27 prominent figures from United States of America. Several US figures who have been sanctioned by Russia include the Vice President Kamala Harris to the Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg.

Moscow implemented a travel ban as a form of revenge for a series of sanctions imposed by the United States on Russia regarding its invasion of Ukraine.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry says the travel ban is “permanent”.

In addition to Harris and Zuckerberg, the ban on entry to Russia also applies to a number of high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Defense, conglomerates, to US journalists.

Not only the US, the administration of President Vladimir Putin has also implemented a travel ban for citizens of a number of America’s allies, such as Canada.

Russia’s foreign ministry said 61 Canadians were barred from traveling to the country of the red bear. Dozens of Canadians consist of state officials to journalists.

Quoted AFPThe Russian Foreign Ministry said the list of people barred from entering Russia “indefinitely” included those “directly involved in the development, verification and implementation of the Russophobia course of the ruling regime in Canada.

Russophobia is a sentiment to hatred of everything that originates and is related to Russia. In the past, Russophobia was often driven by Western propaganda.

This travel ban was implemented by Russia when it was still attacking Ukraine all-out, especially in the eastern region of the former Soviet Union.

It’s been more than a month and a half since Russia invaded Ukraine. Instead of stopping the attacks, Russia has intensified its attacks in eastern Ukraine, especially the Donbas, Donetsk, Luhansk, and Mariupol areas in what they call the ‘second phase of the war’.

Explosions continue to be heard every day and even hours until the death toll continues to fall, including civilians and children.
