“US Removes Vaccination Obligation for Travelers from West Indies: Travel Agencies Can Now Reach a Wider Audience”

The United States is a particularly popular destination for West Indians. This announcement by the White House to withdraw the vaccination obligation to enter American territory follows the end of the health emergency which had been in place in the country since 2020.

This announcement is a relief for many non-vaccinated travelers and also for travel agencies. The President of the Antilles-Guyana Travel Agencies Union, Valérie Ambroise:

All travel professionals are delighted today that this news that we have been waiting for, because we have had confirmations from our DMCs on site for a few weeks, that the validation of this date of May 11 would be effective. That’s it, now things are different.

Even if the destination was still sold to vaccinated travelers since April 8, 2021, this change will make it possible to reach a wider audience:

The reopening to all will allow us to have a much larger range of offers compared to a few years now.

Professionals in the sector are hoping for a new dynamic towards services to North America.
