The US military announced on the 13th that it had recovered key parts of a Chinese reconnaissance balloon shot down on the 4th.
“A significant amount of debris was recovered from the site, including all sensors and electronic components, as well as a large portion of the object,” the US Northern Command said in a statement that day.

Meanwhile, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claimed that the four aerial objects shot down in recent days were correlated.
Prime Minister Trudeau said at a press conference in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, that there was “clearly some kind of pattern” to recent events, and that the objects in question were “seen quite a lot in the past week, which is interesting and noteworthy.”
Meanwhile, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said at a regular briefing on the 14th that the United States has illegally flown more than 10 high-altitude balloons into its airspace and other countries since May 2022, saying, “It is necessary to thoroughly investigate and explain this.”
