Washington has repeatedly accused Moscow meddling in the 2020 US presidential election with a digital disinformation campaign.
The government of US President Joe Biden also accused Russia of organizing cyber attack massively via SolarWinds found in December 2020.

Prohibition of buying debt securities from Russia

Target technology companies

The Federal Police is offering a reward of up to US $ 250,000 for information leading to the arrests of some of these people.
All the companies involved have frozen their US assets and US residents are prohibited from having any transactions with them.

Penalty coordinated over Crimea
The US along with Canada, Britain and Australia imposed sanctions on eight people and entities associated with Russia’s occupation of Crimea.
The United States specifically condemned alleged human rights violations at a detention center in Simferopol, Crimea.
There, detainees reportedly froze, starved, became ill, and were held in cells that were not well-ventilated.

Expulsion of diplomats
Not only imposing sanctions, the US also expelled a number of Russian diplomats in “Uncle Sam’s country”.
On Thursday, the US State Department expelled 10 diplomats to leave the Russian embassy in Washington.
Some of the diplomats were accused of being members of the Moscow intelligence service.
