The United States has announced that it is providing Ukraine with a new $200 million military aid package.

Details: US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the new package of military assistance to Ukraine is provided under the mechanism of the Presidential Drawdown Authority, which allows the transfer of weapons from US stockpiles.
The package will include ammunition for air defense systems, artillery shells, anti-tank weapons and mine-clearing equipment, Blinken said.
The Pentagon clarified that the new aid package included:
additional ammunition for Patriot HIMARS systems, artillery shells of 155 mm and 105 mm calibers, as well as 120 mm tank ammunition; TOW missiles, Javelin anti-tank systems and others; 37 tactical vehicles for transporting equipment, 58 trailers for water equipment; over 12 million small arms cartridges; equipment and systems for demining, projectiles for clearing obstacles and spare parts for equipment repair.
The latest aid package from the US was the beginning of the use of 6.2 billion dollarswhich “appeared” after the discovery of a revaluation of the cost of aid previously provided to Ukraine.

The previous $400 million package, announced at the end of July, included ammunition for Patriot systems, NASAMS and HIMARS complexes and Stinger anti-aircraft systems. The total amount of US military assistance to Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022 is already approaching $44 billion.
