John Kirby assured that America is “open to train Ukrainian pilots” on these fighters.
The United States is ready to train Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighters if such training is not organized by European countries. This was stated by White House National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby, according to Voice of America correspondent Jeff Seldin on Twitter on Friday, August 11.
“The United States is open to training Ukrainian pilots if European partners do not have the opportunity to do so,” the American official said.
According to him, Washington is committed to moving forward in providing Ukraine with “long-term opportunities.”
As we already wrote, the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, approved the training of the Ukrainian military on American F-16 fighters. The learning process should be led by Denmark and the Netherlands.
We add that the US administration has not yet received a final plan for training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets from European partners and therefore cannot certify the transfer of the equipment necessary for this.
