US primary election 2022: which states voted?

The United States continues hold the primary elections of 2022.

Through this process, they choose candidates who will subsequently represent a party to run for public office, both levels local, state or federal.

There are two ways in the primary elections, open and closed, also known as non-partisan and partisan.

The elections non-partisan are open, which means everyone who is registered to vote can participate, regardless of whether it is affiliated with any party; while the partisans are closed and they can only vote people who are affiliated with a party.

US primary election 2022: which states voted?

The elections started March 11 in Texas and have developed in stages in the various states of the country, until 13 September in Delaware, Louisiana, New Hampshire and Rhode Islandto then give way to the general elections that will be held on November 8th

Until now, The states that held their primary elections are as follows:

  • Alabama
  • Arkansas
  • Georgia
  • Idaho
  • Indiana
  • Kentucky
  • Nebraska
  • North Carolina
  • Ohio
  • Oregon
  • Pennsylvania
  • Texas
  • West Virginia

  • 7 June: California, Iowa, Mississippi, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico and South Dakota
  • June 14: Maine, Nevada, North Dakota, South Carolina, Virginia, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Oklahoma, and Utah
  • July 19: Maryland
  • 2nd August: Arizona, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri and Washington
  • August 4th: Tennessee
  • August 9: Connecticut, Minnesota, Vermont and Wisconsin
  • August 13: Hawaii
  • August 16: Alaska and Wyoming
  • August 23: Florida
  • September 6: Massachusetts
  • September 13: Delaware, Louisiana, New Hampshire and Rhode Island
