US President: We will not send to Ukraine missile system that may hit targets in Russia

US President Joe Biden announced on Monday that he would not send missiles to Ukraine that could hit targets deep into Russian territory, although Ukraine has called for the urgent supply of long-range weapons.

“We will not send a missile system to Ukraine that could hit Russia,” Biden told reporters at the White House.

Ukraine has received significant military assistance from the United States since the Russian invasion, but Kiev insists it needs long-range missiles similar to those of the Russian army.

Kiev has asked the United States to supply it with M270 MLRS and M142 Himars mobile long-range missile batteries capable of launching multiple missiles at a range of 300 kilometers, at least eight times the size of an artillery battlefield.

“If the Western Allies want Ukraine to win, it’s probably time to give us a long way to go in the MLRS,” Mikhail Podolak, an adviser to the head of Ukraine’s office, Volodymyr Zelensky, recently said on Twitter.

“It’s hard to fight when attacking from a distance of 70 kilometers, and there’s nothing to fight against,” he added.

The United States announced a $ 40 billion aid package to Ukraine this month, and rumors were rumored that the aid could include long-range weapons.

With the approval of this package, US aid to Ukraine has grown to about $ 54 billion.
