US President Refused to Meet with Bulgarian Prime Minister Denkov: Embarrassing US Visit for the Bulgarian Leader

The US President has refused to meet with Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov. learn Epicenter. bg from sources in PP.

As we wrote two days ago, Prime Minister Denkov is leaving on February 7-8-9 for an official/working visit to the USA, which is organized by Lobby Manatos & Manatos. They were hired for a contract of 100,000 dollars with the “We continue the change” party, signed by Finance Minister Asen Vasilev, in his capacity as co-chairman of the PP.

Despite the large sum, there is apparently zero interest in the outgoing Prime Minister of Bulgaria in Washington, since the White House administration has refused to include even a 3-minute meeting with him in President Biden’s schedule.

However, lobbyists are required to earn their fee and now their efforts are focused on getting Nikolay Denkov a meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, or at least a photo with him. But even this turns out to be difficult, because at this moment such a meeting has not yet been secured.

If it also fails, then Denkov’s overseas visit becomes pointless. And this is very humiliating for the ambitious Denkov, who is praying, almost like a beggar, to be accepted in the highest management circles in the USA.

It is also humiliating for Bulgaria, because the refusal is not to the tourist Denkov, but to the Bulgarian Prime Minister. It is humiliating that for the first time in the history of Bulgarian diplomacy, a lobbying company hired by a political party organized a visit of a Bulgarian prime minister abroad. Even more so in a country that we consider a strategic partner and a country where Bulgarian prime ministers have been welcomed with honors in the Oval Office!

And on top of that – even for money, no one wants to see the current prime minister, which is a telling and killer assessment of him.

At the question of Epicenter. bg – why Denkov insists so much to present himself in the USA after stepping down from the post of prime minister, PP explained that the academic, driven by his ego, very much wanted to boast about the successes of the cabinet for Euro-Atlanticism and to attribute all the merits in this direction.

At the same time, it is striking that in the 9 months since he has been in the prime minister’s post, Nikolay Denkov was not invited on any official foreign-political visit abroad, nor did he host a colleague in our country. All his foreign policy meetings are within the framework of Brussels initiatives. Of these, the most memorable was his meeting with the Chancellor of Austria Karl Nehamer, within the framework of the European Council in Brussels, which ended with a complete fiasco for Denkov and with Vienna’s rejection of our full Schengen membership.

And here we come to the question of the lobbyists hired by the PP to praise the Bulgarian government in the USA and Prime Minister Denkov personally.

First, the “Continuing the Change” party owes an answer to society with what money the US lobbyists were paid, since The law on political parties in Bulgaria does not provide for public funds from party subsidies to be used for lobbying activities.

In the US, where lobbying is regulated by law, it is a well-paid practice such companies to arrange meetings mostly of Third World leaders, which suffer from a legitimacy deficit, with high-ranking American representatives of the executive and legislative branches.

Secondly, in one of the clauses of the contract signed by Asen Vassilev with

Manatos & Manatos is intended precisely to organize such meetings, including at the highest level in the US, for the leaders of “Continuing the Change”. And “the goal is to present the positive sides of Bulgaria to the political elite of the USA”, as well as “strengthening the good relations at the state and party level”.

The agreement also states that M&M will help the PP party “to strengthen bilateral relations between the United States and Bulgaria, as well as to make American political strategists understand the paramount importance of Bulgaria to the United States, especially in view of its pro-Western actions and anti-corruption efforts.” .

It turns out that not with their actions, but with the efforts of paid lobbyists, Bulgaria and in particular “We continue the change”, broadcast by the prime minister and most of the ministers in the government, must convince official Washington, that they pursue a pro-Western policy, that they make anti-corruption efforts, and that they are loyal partners of the United States. No other Bulgarian political force has ever achieved a greater foreign-political disgrace than this!

Thirdly, it is striking that the concluded on December 20, 2023 d. of “We continue the change” agreement with “Manatos & Manatos” (M&M) is with very short term – only two months, until February 29, 2024, which suggests that the purpose of the agreement is Denkov’s visit to the USA. Its value is $100,000, half of which is paid when the contract is signed, and the remaining amount must be paid by February 1. The contract can be re-signed – if not, it expires at the end of February.

Well, it’s a pity for Denkov! May he pay himself and those whom he worships so diligently not want to accept him!

And finally – lobbyists from M&M are not accidental. In 2017, the company “Manatos & Manatos” was lobbied for “Putin’s bank” VTB. Its owners financed the campaign of Senator Menendez, who was caught red-handed and accused of corruption. This is a pure fall – to be promoted in the USA by people accused of corruption!

And through them, Nikolay Denkov wants to take a photo in front of the fireplace in the Oval Office.

This is so pathetic and disgusting!
