US President Joe Biden Visits Israel to Support Israeli Response to Palestinian Resistance

US President Joe Biden arrived in Tel Aviv today, Wednesday, on a visit aimed at providing support to Israel in its war with the Palestinian resistance, and the day after a massacre committed by Israel by bombing the Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip, leaving hundreds of martyrs, most of them children and women.

Biden said – in statements during his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Tel Aviv – that he wanted to come to Israel so that the people there and in the entire world know that the United States stands with Israel, indicating that Washington wants to make sure that Israel has what it needs to respond to the terrorist attacks. Hamas, which was considered to have committed what it described as atrocities in Israel.

Regarding the Baptist Hospital massacre in Gaza last night, Biden told Netanyahu, “I was sad and angry about the explosion in the Baptist Hospital yesterday, and it seems that the other side is behind it, not you.”

In turn, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked Biden for his “absolute” support, noting that “today’s level of cooperation with the United States is unprecedented,” calling on “the world to unite to defeat Hamas,” he said.

Biden’s visit comes “to reaffirm the United States’ solidarity with Israel and its strong commitment to its security,” in addition to discussing current developments with Israeli officials, according to previous statements by the US State Department.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken also announced earlier that President Biden will once again make clear that “Israel has the right to defend itself” against the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

Blinken said that it is necessary for aid to begin flowing to Gaza as soon as possible, noting that his country and Israel agreed to develop a plan that allows aid to reach civilians in the Strip.

Cancellation of the Quad Summit

Biden was scheduled to go today, Wednesday, from Tel Aviv to Amman to meet with King Abdullah II of Jordan and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, before the Jordanian Foreign Ministry announced the cancellation of that quadripartite summit in the wake of the Israeli bombing that targeted the Baptist Hospital in Gaza and claimed the lives of hundreds. .

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al-Safadi said in press statements, “After consulting with our Palestinian brothers and our brothers in Egypt, and after talking with the United States, we decided not to hold the quadripartite summit,” which was scheduled in Amman today, stressing that the international community must put an end to “the bloodshed, the continuation of which constitutes a stain.” “A disgrace to humanity.”

A White House official also said that President Biden canceled a scheduled visit to Jordan after visiting Israel, indicating that after consulting with King Abdullah II – and in light of the days of mourning announced by the Palestinian President – the US President will postpone his travel to Jordan.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the number of victims of the Israeli bombing that targeted the courtyard of the Baptist Hospital in Gaza had risen to 500 martyrs, most of whom were women and children.
