Volodin said Thursday that Biden’s State of the Union address, in which he claimed the US was a country that stood as a beacon to the world, reminded him of statements by leaders of the Third Reich.
“The consequences of this ‘ideology of privilege’ were revealed in the investigation by Hersh,” the Russian politician wrote in a posting on Telegram.

Volodin was referring to a report published by the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist on Wednesday, in which he claimed that the US was behind the Nord Stream gas pipeline explosion last September.
According to an informed source who spoke to Hersh, explosives were planted in a major pipeline in the Baltic Sea in June 2022 by US Navy divers under the guise of NATO combat training. The explosives were then remotely detonated.
The Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines are an important route for shipping Russian gas to Europe via Germany.
“If [Harry S.] Truman became the villain, who used nuclear weapons against civilians in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, then Biden became the terrorist, who ordered the destruction of the energy infrastructure of his strategic partners: Germany, France, Holland,” Volodin wrote, as quoted Russia Today.
“The sabotage of the pipeline by America is an act of intimidation towards its followers, who decided to develop their economy in the interests of their own citizens,” continues Volodin.
“The disclosure of the results of the Hersh investigation should form the basis of an international investigation to bring Biden and his accomplices to justice,” Volodin added. “And to ensure that the countries affected by these ‘terrorist attacks’ are compensated.”
The Biden administration has dismissed Hersh’s investigative report, which National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson called “absolutely fabricated and complete fiction”.
Russian authorities have for months pointed to the fact that the only beneficiary of the Nord Stream being inoperable is the US, which saw its supplies of liquefied natural gas to Europe massively increase after the sabotage.
