US President Joe Biden pointedly pushed away British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak when he met the American leader at a military airfield near Belfast.
The British newspaper Daily Mail noted that with this gesture, the American president, who arrived on a visit, showed disrespect for the British politician.
“The President of the United States waved off the Prime Minister immediately after landing, many saw this as an insulting diplomatic gesture,” British media noted.
The incident was filmed by reporters. The footage shows Biden rudely pushing the British prime minister aside immediately after a quick hello with Sunak. After that, the US leader greeted the representative of the king in the county Antrim by David McCorkelland then hugged the US Ambassador to the UK Jane Hartley.
