However, despite his confident tone, the head of state avoided a direct answer to the question of the exact date of the start of the operation, referring to the need to preserve a tactical advantage.
“I can’t tell you exactly when that will happen,” Biden admitted, stressing that the disclosure of such information could jeopardize the success of the upcoming operation.
“If I answer, it won’t work,” the US president warned.
At the same time, Biden emphasized that the US and its NATO allies are well aware of which trained brigades will participate in the counteroffensive, as well as in what condition they are.
“We and our NATO allies know how many trained brigades will be involved and what their condition is,” he told reporters in Hiroshima.
Biden also expressed confidence that the armed forces of Ukraine have every chance of success.
“And we have positive chances for their success,” he emphasized. However, the US president preferred not to disclose details of these probabilities, citing the need to maintain secrecy.
“I know, but I’m not going to tell you because it would be stupid of me,” Biden said.
Activity of the armed forces of Ukraine on the front line has indeed been registered, but at the moment there are no concrete actions to testify to the beginning of a counter-offensive.
