US President Joe Biden indicated that there will be a ceasefire in Gaza before the month of Ramzan. Biden stated that Israel is ready for a temporary ceasefire in Gaza if an agreement is reached regarding the exchange of hostages.
A six-week ceasefire is expected by next week. Biden also said that in exchange for the release of the hostages, he would release the Palestinian prisoners.
His response came after the talks held in Paris and Doha.
Hamas has rejected Biden’s statement. Hamas said that he made a statement with no sense of reality. Israeli officials also said they would not comment on Biden’s statement. Earlier, Hamas was ready for a ceasefire, but Israel took the position that it was not even ready to negotiate.
