US President Donald Trump Announces Positive Covid-19 via Twitter

Earlier on Thursday (1/10/2020), in an interview with the FOX News television station, Trump admitted that he was waiting for the results of the Covid-19 test.

“Whether we are quarantined or we have them, I don’t know,” Trump said.

After the interview, Trump announced on Twitter that he and Melania Trump would “begin the quarantine process” pending test results.

Trump’s announcement that he was positive for the corona virus, on Thursday night (1/10/2020) US time, was made after his closest aide, Hope Hicks, was first identified as having Covid-19.

Hicks has participated in several trips with the president this week, including a campaign event in Minnesota and a presidential debate with Joe Biden in Cleveland.

At 74 years old, Trump is quite old enough to be more prone to experiencing severe symptoms due to Covid-19. However, he is rarely seen wearing a mask in public and often seems to underestimate the Covid-19 outbreak in his country.

He also felt that he would not catch Covid-19, when White House staff were knocked down one by one by the disease.
