Many types of products that Washington can send to Kiev are being considered, said Biden’s adviser.
Washington is preparing additional military assistance to Kiev. The decision to grant it will be made by US President Joe Biden. About this on Friday, December 17, stated US National Security Leader’s Assistant Jake Sullivan, speaking to the Council on Foreign Relations.
“We are constantly assessing the additional needs that Ukraine has, making up potential packages. And these packages are being actively considered,” the official said.
According to him, many types of products are currently being considered that Washington can send to Kiev as military assistance. The final decision on further steps in this direction rests with the President of the United States, Sullivan said.
“At the moment, we continue to provide assistance to Ukraine in the field of defense. Just last week, another package with this assistance arrived in Ukraine, and more will arrive,” he added.
According to US media reports, the White House is studying the possibility of sending military equipment to Ukraine, including helicopters, which was originally intended for Afghanistan.
As reported, U.S. Senators approved the draft US defense budget for 2022 in the amount of $ 778 billion, providing for the allocation of $ 300 million to support Ukraine.
Prior to this, the Ukrainian authorities appealed to the US administration with a request to transfer to Kiev part of the American weapons, which were destined for Afghanistan before the Taliban seized power there.
