National Transportation Safety Board United States (US) or NTSB has released “emergency safety recommendations” regarding aircraft guidance systems Boeing 737 a special type. The investigation order from the NTSB highlights the danger of touching or interfering with the direction of the aircraft.
This search order, as reported AFPFriday (27/9/2024), released after the February 6 incident involving the plane Boeing 737 maximum 8 operated by US airlines, United Airlines.
In this incident, the plane’s rudder pedal was “stuck” in the neutral position when the plane was on the runway after landing at Newark Airport, New Jersey.

None of the 155 passengers and crew members were injured in the incident. However, according to the NTSB, the pilot of the plane used the landing gear controls on the nose of the plane to steer the plane.
Boeing has come under increasing pressure after several safety incidents involving its production aircraft. Party Boeing did not respond to this latest NTSB investigation order.
The cause of the incident last February, according to the NTSB report, was an actuator or rake on the launch guide, one of the aircraft’s directional control components, and tests showed that the actuator was susceptible to moisture which “could freeze and restrict movement of the leadership system.”
An actuator is a mechanical device used to move or control a machine or system.
