US Open> Toni Nadal: “I don’t think that a follower of our sport can imagine Roger Federer or Rafael looking for extra-sporting shortcuts to obtain the victory”

In his column in El Pais, Toni Nadal does not spare Stefanos Tsitsipas.

For him, the attitude of the Greek is not correct.

He also remembers an experience his nephew had against Nishikori at the Rio Games: “I still remember with some disgust the similar situation Rafael suffered in the bronze medal match against Japan’s Kei Nishikori at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. After my nephew came back from behind to tie the game to one set, he had to endure the blatant absence of his opponent for 11 long minutes. Much longer than allowed, and he wasn’t even warned. The Japanese player managed to recover both emotionally and physically and won the match»Toni explained before driving the point home.

“I do not think that a follower of our sport can imagine Roger Federer or Rafael, I do not see why, to look for extra-sporting shortcuts to obtain the victory”
