The men’s and women’s singles champions will collect 3.6 million dollars each, respectively, 20 percent more than 12 months ago.
Sinner takes on Djokovic and Alcaraz: debut on Tuesday
The defending champion Novak Djokovicfresh from winning the Olympic gold, will be chasing his fifth victory to reach Jimmy Connors, Pete Sampras and Roger Federer in the all-time rankings. His main rivals will be Jannik Sinner e Carlos Alcaraz that the draw placed on the same side of the draw. US Open, 15 Italians in the draw
Sinner leads a patrol of 15 Italians. The 10 in the men’s draw are a record, as in 2020 and 2021, with 7 in the top 48 ATP. On the first day, 5 will take to the field. Opening the dance (at 5 pm on court no. 14) will be Luke Nardiwhich faces Spanish Baptist Agut. Then it will be the turn of Matthew Berrettiniwho challenges another Spaniard, Ramos Vinolas (second meeting on pitch no. 7, around 7pm). Lorenzo Musetti cross the American Opelka (on the 7th after Berrettini, around 10pm), while Luciano Darderi he faces the Argentine Baez (fourth meeting on pitch no. 4, approximately 12am).
So let’s make room for women with Martina Trevisanopposite to the American one Townsend (third meeting on field no. 17, around 10pm), and Lucy Bronzettion stage against the New Zealander Sun (fourth meeting on court no. 11, 1 am on Tuesday morning). US Open Schedule: Finals September 7 and 8
The tournament begins on Monday, August 26, one day later than the other Slam events that start on Sunday, and includes two days for the first round matches and two days for the subsequent rounds up to the quarterfinals. The days will have a daytime session that will start at 11 am local time (5 pm Italian time) and an evening session that will start at 7 pm (1 am in Italian time). The women’s semifinals are scheduled for Thursday 5, while the men’s semifinals are scheduled for Friday 6. The women’s final will be played on Saturday 7 at 10 pm Italian time, the men’s final on Sunday 8 at 8 pm.
