(ANSA) – WASHINGTON, JULY 11 – The Nationwide Italian American Basis (NIAF) has awarded Normal Christopher Cavoli, Supreme Allied Commander Europe, the distinguished ‘Fiorello LaGuardia’ award (named after the long-lasting former mayor of New York) for his “distinctive service and management”. The medal celebrates Italian Individuals who’ve made a big contribution to the protection of the US and who’ve distinguished themselves by dedication and spirit of service. Expressing his honor and satisfaction within the award, Normal Cavoli, talking in each Italian and English, emphasised the deep connection between his Italian heritage and American citizenship, concluding with a heartfelt assertion: “Know that on this American beats an Italian coronary heart”. The ceremony, held within the historic Decatur Home in Washington on the sidelines of the NATO summit, was additionally attended by Overseas Minister Antonio Tajani and Protection Minister Guido Crosetto.
