The US Shooting Association has undergone a ransomware cyberattack involving Russian hackers. The hackers have posted 13 files on their resources, which, according to them, belong to the NSA.

Most of the stolen documents relate to grants funded from the budget of the shooting association. If the ransom requested by the hackers is not paid, cybercriminals threaten to publish other stolen files as well. NBC does not provide the amount requested by the cybercriminals.
The broadcaster claims that hackers united in the Grief group are behind the attack on the NSA. We are talking about the collective, formerly called Evil Corp, which the US authorities associate with the Russian Federation and against which the US Treasury imposed sanctions in 2019. Since the introduction of sanctions, Evil Corp may have changed its name to avoid restrictions.
The NSA press service did not comment on the information about the alleged cyber attack. At the same time, the head of the shooting association’s press service pointed out on Twitter that the NSA “does not discuss issues related to its physical or electronic security.” According to him, the NSA is taking “extraordinary measures to protect information concerning its members, sponsors and activities.”
