US Missile Deployment in Europe Becomes Russia’s Threat, S-500 Ready for Action

MOSCOW – President Russia Vladimir Putin arrived in Sochi for a series of meetings on the future of the Russian army and military-industrial sector.

Putin warned Washington’s plans to deploy medium-range missiles in Europe pose a threat to Russia. Putin made the statement on Monday (1/11/2021).

“Everyone is aware of the US plan to deploy medium-range missiles in Europe, this poses a great danger and threat to us,” Putin told representatives of the Defense Ministry.

He added, “Russia will respond adequately to attempts by foreign countries to break strategic parity.”

“We are all well aware that some of our foreign partners are not stopping efforts to break the balance, including through the deployment of global missile defense elements around our borders. We cannot fail to pay attention to this threat to Russian security and will react in an adequate way,” Putin said.

According to Putin, Russia’s upgraded air defense system will be able to detect and destroy all types of hypersonic and ballistic missiles.
