CNN quoted people familiar with the matter as reported on Saturday that Vice President Pence did not rule out the use of the 25th Amendment to the Constitution, but the Pence team worried that any attempt to force Trump to step down would attract Trump. More aggressive actions may threaten the country. A spokesperson for Pence did not respond.
Democratic Representative Liu Yunping disclosed on Twitter earlier that the Democrats in the House of Representatives will move to impeach Trump on Monday (11th). As of last Saturday (9th) night, 190 members have supported it.
The relevant motion text attributed the riots on Capitol Hill to Trump, accusing him of “seriously endangering the safety of the United States and its government institutions, threatening the integrity of the democratic system, obstructing the peaceful transfer of power, and undermining the separation of powers.” Liu Yunping’s spokesperson revealed that there are currently 190 members of the House of Representatives who support, but no Republicans are among them. At least three other senators expressed their hope that Trump will leave office or may support impeachment, but before that Senate Speaker McConnell stated that the Senate will hold another formal meeting on January 19, and it is expected that it will not be until the end of Trump’s term. Start the impeachment hearing.
