The United States Department of Justice is suing 40 elevated positions of the former president of the United States Donald Trump (2017-2021) for its alleged relationship with the groped to overturn the electoral result of the 2020 presidential election.
As published on Monday by the New York Times, which cited sources close to the investigation, in recent days the US government – currently led by Democrat Joe Biden – would also have seized the phones of two of Trump’s top advisers.
Among those called to testify are former New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik and former Trump Social Media Director Dan Scavino.
The former Trump campaign manager also received the notification Bill Stepien and campaign finance chief Sean Dollman.
As for the two seized phones, the Times said they belonged to former Trump lawyer Boris Epshteyn and campaign strategist Mike Roman.
The main information the Department of Justice seeks with this investigation concerns the alleged attempt by Trump’s entourage to achieve this, representatives who had not been elected in the elections by the state of Georgia, Pennsylvania and Arizona pretended to be legitimate and support the then president.
Currently, the former president has numerous lawsuits pending against him in various courts across the country.
On Monday, his lawyers vindicated the judge in charge of Trump’s lawsuit FBI record of his Florida mansion that does not accept the government’s request to continue examining the seized material.
The FBI raided Trump’s mansion in Mar-a-Lago, Florida for taking confidential documents from the White House.
He also plans a possible accusation on the former president for his alleged connection with the assault on the Capitol in January 2021, which resulted in five deaths. EFE
