US Justice Minister: “Trumps tweets make my work impossible” NOW

The American justice minister William Barr lashes out on Thursday for his president and Republican party member Donald Trump. According to Barr, Trump’s tweets about ongoing court cases make his work “impossible”.

Barr comes in an interview with ABC for himself after he came under fire because of the case of Trump adviser Roger Stone. Four prosecutors in this case stopped this week after their criminal claim was withdrawn by the Barr Department. That is an unusual step.

Monday Stone was still sentenced to seven to nine years in prison for making false statements to the US House of Representatives, influencing witnesses, and bothering justice. A jury agreed November already proven.

President Trump called the sentence against his companion Tuesday on Twitter a “judicial blunder”. Not long after this tweet, the prosecutors withdrew from the case because of “interference from the Ministry of Justice.” One of the prosecutors even resigned in protest.

“Trump didn’t ask me”

Justice in Washington states that the decision on the sentence was taken Monday evening – so for the Trump tweets -. Barr says that the president has never asked him to intervene in a lawsuit.

“Nevertheless, statements and tweets about the department, our people, current affairs and judges make it impossible to do my job,” Barr lashes out at Trump. “I must ensure that honest work is done in the courtrooms and prosecutors.”

Criticism doesn’t bother Trump

White House spokesperson Stephanie Grisham says in a statement that Barr’s remarks do not bother the US president. According to Trump, Barr, like any other American, has the right to express his opinions. According to the statement, he is confident that the minister of justice is doing his job well and that he is complying with the law. The spokesperson also states that Trump uses social media “to fight for the American people against the injustices in the country, including fake news”.

Prior to Trumps statement, the minister of justice thought he was likely to be affected by his statements about the president. “But I am here to serve as the chief prosecutor and I am responsible for everything that happens at the ministry. Above all, I am responsible for everything that I have to make decisions about.”

Barr has been useful to Trump since he took office last year. For example, he acquitted the president of obstruction of justice in the Russian investigation, where chief prosecutor Robert Mueller did not want to do that.

Roger Stone will probably hear next week what sentence he will receive.
