Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Senior US military officials say the Pentagon’s new push to investigate UFO reports has so far produced no evidence to suggest aliens have visited Earth or landed here.
However, the Pentagon’s efforts to investigate strange and unidentified objects, in space, in the sky or under water, have resulted in hundreds of new reports that are now being investigated.
As of June 2021, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence reported that there were 144 UFO encounters between 2004 and 2021, 80 of which were captured by various sensors.
“We haven’t seen anything, and it’s still very early days, which would lead us to believe that none of the objects we’ve seen are of alien origin,” said Ronald Moultrie, the undersecretary of defense for intelligence and security. Al JazeeraSaturday (17/12/2022).
Sean Kirkpatrick, director of the Pentagon’s new All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) – which investigates the sightings – hasn’t ruled out the possibility of extraterrestrial life and says he’s taking a scientific approach to the search.
“I would just like to say that we have structured our analysis to be very thorough and rigorous. We are looking at everything,” Kirkpatrick said, speaking at his first press conference since AARO was founded in July. “We are getting more reports,” she added.
When asked to count the number of new reports of potential UFO sightings, Kirkpatrick said “several hundred”.
Sightings of aircraft that appear to be incompatible with known technology or that appear to defy the laws of physics have long been cited by amateur observers and investigators as evidence of extraterrestrial life. Many have speculated that the US government has more evidence of UFOs than is being disclosed.
An updated report from the Director of National Intelligence should be available later this year, providing specific data on new UFO reports received since 2021.
In May, the US Congress held its first hearing in more than half a century on the subject of UFOs, with many members expressing concerns that the object was alien or potentially new, unknown technology piloted by China. Russia or another potential adversary, created a security risk…
In addition to unidentifiable objects, there are many new technologies – such as future stealth bombers and fighters, drones and hypersonic missiles fielded by the US and China – which could be mistaken for UFOs.
Kirkpatrick said his office coordinated with the Pentagon and the US intelligence community to obtain new US technology signatures to rule out the plane or drone as a possible UFO.
He said a “very clear mechanism” would be set up with the Department of Defense and the US intelligence community to ensure his office can identify and exclude US technology from possible UFO sightings.
