US intelligence says Russia is planning to invade Ukraine with 100 battalions

WASHINGTON – Tensions in the border area Ukraine Russia steadily increasing for weeks. The buildup of Russian troops along Ukraine hints at a delayed invasion plan.

The official added that the plan calls for the movement of 100 Russian tactical battalion groups along with armored vehicles, artillery and other equipment.

“Intelligence officials have also seen an increase in Russia’s propaganda efforts through the use of proxies and the media to denigrate Ukraine and NATO in the run-up to a potential invasion,” the official said.

The intelligence findings were first reported by The Washington Post.

Asked about the intelligence findings as he left for Camp David on Friday evening, the US President Joe Biden repeated his concern about Russian provocations.
