An office intelligence United States of America (The US) said that plans for an invasion of Russia were underway and that it was likely that an attack would be carried out after early 2022.
“Recent intelligence findings estimate that Russia is planning to deploy around 175,000 troops and nearly half of them are already deployed along points near the Ukrainian border,” said a Biden administration official who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the findings. AP, Saturday (4/12/2021).
It comes as Russia has put its demands on Biden to guarantee that Ukraine will not be allowed to join the alliance NATO .

The official added that the plan calls for the movement of 100 Russian tactical battalion groups along with armored vehicles, artillery and other equipment.
“Intelligence officials have also seen an increase in Russia’s propaganda efforts through the use of proxies and the media to denigrate Ukraine and NATO in the run-up to a potential invasion,” the official said.
The intelligence findings were first reported by The Washington Post.
Asked about the intelligence findings as he left for Camp David on Friday evening, the US President Joe Biden repeated his concern about Russian provocations.
