The annual inflation rate in the United States rose in April, on a monthly basis, to 0.4%, compared to 0.1% in April Marchaccording to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics released on Wednesday.
In May, the US Federal Reserve raised interest rates by 25 basis points, bringing interest rates to a range between 5 and 5.25%.
While the annual inflation rate slowed slightly to 4.9% in April from 5% in March.
The Fed seeks to counter high inflation in America. But it is still well above the Fed’s target of 2% in the medium term.
