The regional banks index fell by about 3% after achieving the highest daily gain in 7 weeks in Friday’s session.
Dow Jones and S&P 500:
The Dow Jones index declined by 0.2%, equivalent to 55 points, under pressure from the technology sector, which declined by 0.5%.
The index was affected by a decline in Apple and Microsoft shares by 0.2% and 0.6%, respectively.
The S & P 500 index rose slightly, to close the index stable at 4138 points.
Nasdaq Composite Index:
The Nasdaq Composite Index rose by 0.2%, achieving its highest close in 8 months, after rising for the second session in a row, and the index’s gains reached more than 17% since the beginning of the year.
Tesla shares rose more than 1% to a 3-week high on news that the electric car company plans to produce lithium for 1 million cars from a Texas refinery.
