Details: The US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced sanctions on December 1 against three entities and three vessels.

The companies are Liberia-registered HS Atlantica Limited and Dubai-registered Sterling Shipping Incorporated and Streymoy Shipping Limited.

The sanctions included Liberian-flagged tankers HS Atlantica (5LIP5), NS Champion (A8FD9) and Viktor Bakaev (D5BN6), associated with these legal entities.

Let us remind you:

The Group of Seven imposed a price cap on Russian oil at the end of 2022, hoping to reduce Russia’s energy revenues and its ability to finance its war against Ukraine and avoid a global spike in oil prices. It’s already not the first ships and companies, which recently came under sanctions in the United States for circumventing the “price ceiling.” The US State Department says that want to halve Russia’s energy revenues until 2030.
