Speaker of the House of Representatives United States of America (USA) Nancy Pelosi suddenly visited Kiev, Ukraine. Nancy asked Ukraine Don’t give in to bullies like Russia.
“Don’t want to be bullied by bullies. If they make threats, don’t back down. That’s my view,” Nancy told a news conference as quoted by AFP on Monday (2/5/2022).
Nancy explains that she came to help Ukraine fight against Russia. Therefore, he urged Ukraine not to surrender to Russia.
“We’re here to fight, and you can’t give in to bullies,” he said.
Nancy’s visit to Kiev made her the most senior US official to visit Ukraine in wartime. Previously, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin had already visited last month.
“We are visiting you to thank you for your fight for freedom. We are committed to staying with you until the war is over,” said Nancy.
“We went with a stronger understanding and a more up -to -date understanding of what needs to be done, with a deeper appreciation and inspiration from those who are struggling,” he added.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also thanked Nancy for visiting. According to him, Nancy provides strong support for Ukraine to resist the Russian invasion.
