Washington –
The US House of Representatives will open an impeachment inquiry into the US President Joe Biden. This was revealed by the Chairman of the US House of Representatives from the Republican Party, Kevin McCarthy
“I directed our House committee to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden,” McCarthy told reporters as reported ReutersTuesday (12/9/2023).
It was reported that many cadres in McCarthy’s party were angry when the DPR, which was then controlled by the Democratic Party, twice impeached Republican President Donald Trump – in 2019 and 2021 – even though he was acquitted twice by the Senate.
Biden, who defeated Trump in the 2020 election, is seeking re-election next year. Republicans, who now control only the House of Representatives, accuse Biden of profiting while he served as vice president from 2009 to 2017 from the overseas business ventures of his son, Hunter Biden. Even so, the Republican Party has not provided strong evidence.
The White House said there was no basis for opening an investigation. Democrats say talk of impeachment in the Republican Party is an attempt to divert public attention from the conviction of Trump, who faces four separate criminal charges.
