The United States has turned over evidence to the United Nations that North Korea is helping Russia with weapons, White House National Security Council Press Secretary John Kirby said.
Kirby showed journalists in Washington satellite images showing that on November 18, five Russian railway cars left Russia for North Korea.
“The next day, North Korea loaded these rail container cars, and then the train returned to Russia,” Kirby said.
He added that Pyongyang’s military assistance has not changed the dynamics of hostilities in Ukraine, however, Russia still seeks to receive weapons from North Korea.
Kirby stated that North Korea is secretly supplying Russia with a significant amount of artillery shells. At the end of last year, North Korea delivered a batch of weapons to the Russian mercenary group Wagner.
US Permanent Representative to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield announced at the UN Security Council meeting that North Korea continues to plan arms deliveries to Russia.
