With the new tranche, the total amount of US military aid to Ukraine reaches 35.1 billion dollars
The United States has announced that it is granting a new tranche of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 2.6 billion dollars, including Patriot air defense missiles and artillery ammunition, reported France Press, quoted by BTA.
Of the total, the US will immediately deliver $500 million worth of weapons from its stockpiles, with the remaining $2.1 billion in defense industry orders, according to a Pentagon statement.
In addition to air defense missiles, the Ukrainian forces will receive additional ammunition for the US-made Hymars high-precision mobile missile launchers and artillery rockets, as well as various ammunition and spare parts, the US Department of Defense announced.
Orders for industry are mainly for anti-aircraft equipment and artillery.
The new tranche brings total US military aid to Ukraine to $35.1 billion since the start of the Russian offensive on February 24, 2022. The new aid was announced on the day Finland’s historic accession to NATO after decades of military non-alignment alliances.
