(CercleFinance.com) – Real GDP in the United States grew at an annualized rate of 1.1% in the first quarter of 2023, according to the Commerce Department’s very first estimate, marking a much sharper slowdown than expected compared to to 2.6% in the last quarter of 2022.

“The increase recorded in the first quarter mainly reflects an increase in consumer spending which was partially offset by a decrease in inventory investment,” said the administration.
