US freezes arms deal with Saudi Arabia and UAE | Biden suspends arms sales to Saudi Arabia and UAE; Trump’s decision will be reconsidered

Washington: Joe Biden has frozen former President Donald Trump’s decision to sell arms to the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Trump’s decision was frozen for reconsideration. State Secretary Anthony Blinkon said the move was natural as the new administration came to power. The Biden administration has frozen the sale of guided missiles to Saudi Arabia and F-35 fighter jets to the UAE.

Anthony Blinkon said the review was aimed at strengthening US diplomatic and foreign policy. Today was Anthony Blink’s first press conference since taking office as Secretary of State. Joe Biden had earlier announced that the United States would reconsider its relationship with Saudi Arabia. In the first hour after taking office, Biden began the process of reviewing and reversing some of the key policies adopted by Donald Trump.

The United States established good relations with Saudi Arabia and the UAE during the Donald Trump era. The move comes as the United States moves against Iran in the region. In May 2019, the US President authorized Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Jordan to sell $ 8 billion worth of weapons. The move overcame strong opposition from Congress.
