US finds 8 cases of myocarditis in children injected with Pfizer vaccine

The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has received reports of eight cases myocarditis, a type of inflammation of the heart, in children aged 5-11 years who receive the vaccine Pfizer (PFE.N) dan BioNTech’s Covid-19.

The CDC previously said that the reporting rate of myocarditis for boys aged 16 to 17 years was more than 69 cases per million second dose administered and about 40 cases per million second dose in boys aged 12-15 years.

Myocarditis is a condition of inflammation or inflammation of the heart muscle (myocardium). This muscle is responsible for the function of the heart in pumping blood to all organs of the body. When this muscle becomes inflamed, the function of the heart in pumping blood will be disrupted. As a result, symptoms appear in the form of chest pain, heart rhythm disturbances, and shortness of breath.

The agency did not say whether it believed there was a link between cases of myocarditis and the vaccine or disclosed rates of myocarditis in the age group without the vaccine.

Until yesterday, they had examined data on more than seven million doses of vaccine in the 5-11 year age group, consisting of 5.1 million first doses and 2 million second doses. The CDC said the cases had mild symptoms.

The cases are reported in the No Incident Reporting System Beneficial The U.S. vaccine and is presented by the CDC to its expert advisory panel.

The United States drug regulator (FDA) in June 2021 added a warning to the description of the Covid-19 vaccine produced by Pfizer Inc/BioNTech and Moderna. This warning points to a rare risk of heart inflammation following the use of the vaccine.

quote Between, The FDA says fact sheets for healthcare providers have been revised for each vaccine. The revision was made to include a warning that reports of side effects of this vaccine indicate an increased risk of myocarditis and pericarditis.

This increased risk usually occurs after the second dose of the vaccine is given. These side effects can cause symptoms within a few days after vaccination.

The FDA noted that more than 1,200 cases of myocarditis or pericarditis had been reported to the US Vaccine Endangerment Event Reporting System (VAERS) as of June 11, 2021. This is the effect of the approximately 300 million doses of mRNA vaccine administered in the US.

The cases appeared to be higher in men and in the week after the second vaccine dose. The CDC identified 309 cases of hospitalization due to inflammation of the heart in people under the age of 30 years. Of the total patients, 295 of them have been discharged.
