US Fighters Intercept Two Russian Strategic Bombers in Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone

American fighter jets intercepted two Russian Tu-95 strategic bombers.

It is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to press service North American Aerospace Defense Command (NOPAD).

NOPAD personnel located, tracked, positively identified and intercepted two Russian aircraft that had entered and operated within the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone. It is reported that the interception was carried out by F-16 and F-22 fighters.

The Russian aircraft remained in international airspace and did not enter US or Canadian airspace. The command noted that such flights occur regularly and are not considered a threat or provocative actions.
