US Federal Trade Commission Appeals Court’s Decision on Activision Blizzard-Microsoft Merger

The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC), as expected, filed an appeal against the court’s decision on the deal Activision Blizzard and Microsoft. She still hopes delay the merger with a second preliminary injunction.

Microsoft’s first temporary injunction in mid-June expires this Friday. the 14 th of July. And the deadline for completing the deal with Activision Blizzard is July 18. This means that the FTC does not have much time left to get approval of the complaint and extend the block. Many expect that the deal will have time to close.

President Microsoft Brad Smith expressed disappointment the actions of the US FTC, which, according to him, “continues to be engaged in an obviously weak case.” Microsoft itself will continue to oppose further attempts to delay or prevent the merger.
