US elections 2020: Trump wants to prove election fraud with obituaries

Former US President George W. Bush has congratulated Democrat Joe Biden on winning the US presidential election. He had spoken to the “elected President” Biden and the elected Vice President Kamala Harris, said the last surviving Republican ex-president on Sunday. “Although we have political differences, I know Joe Biden is a good man.” Bush also congratulated the defeated incumbent Donald Trump and his supporters on their campaign. “He won the votes of more than 70 million Americans – an exceptional political achievement.”

Bush pointed out that Trump has the right to request recounts and take legal action. The ex-president also wrote: “The American people can trust that this election was fundamentally fair, that its integrity will be preserved and that its result will be clear.” Trump sees himself being cheated out of his victory in Tuesday’s election. However, he has not provided any evidence for these allegations.

Bush said that in an interview with him, Biden emphasized that he was a candidate for a Democrat but would rule for all Americans. “I offered him the same thing I offered President Trump and Obama: my prayers for his success and my promise to help him in every possible way.”

George W. Bush was President of the United States from 2001 to 2009. He was followed by Democrat Barack Obama in the White House. (SDA)
