The US dollar exchange rate against the rupiah on Tuesday morning was recorded to have weakened to Rp. 14,992 or minus 19 points (-0.13%).
Today (Tuesday 18 July 2023) the rupiah is predicted to fluctuate and has the potential to be closed in the red zone and move in the range of Rp. 14,930 – Rp. 15,070, this was conveyed by the Director of PT Profit Forexindo Berjangka Ibrahim Asjuangbi.
Ibrahim also explained that the United States (US) central bank is expected to raise interest rates at the end of July. The market began to anticipate this.
High inflation in the US also contributed to this signal. In Asia, on an annual basis, China’s GDP grew 6.3% in the second quarter, lower than expectations of growth of 7.3%. At yesterday’s close, the rupiah weakened 51 points to the level of Rp. 15,009.
Quoting RTI data Tuesday (18/7/2023) the US dollar is at the highest level of Rp. 15,011 and the lowest is Rp. 14,983. Within a week, the currency of this superpower minus 1.18%.
The US dollar today has varied movements against a number of currencies in Asia and also in a number of European countries.
The US dollar exchange rate against the Chinese yuan weakened 0.06%. Then the US dollar against the Japanese yen weakened 0.04% and against the Singapore dollar strengthened 0.02% Against the Australian dollar weakened 0.04%. Then against the Euro weakened 0.03% and against the Pound Sterling weakened 0.08%
