VIVA – Hearing news of the attack by Palestinian Hamas military forces on Israel, the United States (US) immediately responded. US Secretary of Defense, General (Ret.) Lloyd Austin, commanded the carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-77) moved to the coast of Israel.
VIVA Military reported in previous news, Palestinian Hamas fighters have been attacking Israeli territory by land and air, since Saturday 7 October 2023 evening local time.
More than 2,000 rockets were fired by Hamas from the Gaza Strip. According to the latest report quoted VIVA Military from Human EventsPalestinian Hamas attacks have killed at least more than 600 Israeli citizens.
America, which is Israel’s biggest ally, immediately acted with the deployment of the Carrier Battle Group fleet USS Gerald R. Ford.

Austin said the aircraft carrier would carry some aid to the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, including ammunition and military personnel.
“I have directed the movements of the Carrier Battle Group USS Gerald R. Ford to the Eastern Mediterranean,” Austin was quoted as saying VIVA Military from Business Insider.
“In addition, the United States government will immediately provide additional equipment and resources to the Israel Defense Forces, including ammunition assistance,” he said.
Not alone, the United States aircraft carrier also sailed towards Israel along with a number of warships with guided missile capabilities.

The United States military warships that will arrive are cruisers USS Normandy (CG-60)destroyer USS Thomas Huder (DDG-116), USS Ramage (DDG-61), USS Carney (DDG-64) and USS Roosevelt (DDG-80).
US Central Command (CENTCOM) also confirmed that it would add a fighter jet squadron, to strengthen the defense posture in the area.
A number of fighter aircraft viz McDonell Douglas F-15 Eagle, General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon and Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderboltthe number of units will be increased for reasons of maintaining global troop readiness.
“We are taking steps to increase the squadron of fighter aircraft F-15, F-16and A-10 who are already in the area,” read a statement from US Armed Forces Central Command.
