-Free Asia Broadcasting (RFA) reported on the 22nd (local time) that the US State Department sanctioned one official from the North Korean Labor Party’s military industry.

The list of companies and individuals who violate the Iran, North Korea, and Syrian Nonproliferation Act, which the State Department released in the Federal Register on the same day, included Rim Ryong Nam, a member of the North Korean Labor Party’s Military Industry Department.

According to the State Department, Lim Ryongnam is an official from the North Korean Labor Party’s Military Industry Department and currently resides in China.

In addition to Lim Ryongnam, the list included two Chinese companies. A State Department spokesman told RFA that the three individuals and institutions located in China were sanctioned under the Iran, North Korea and Syria Nonproliferation Act. The spokesman explained that sensitive items related to the spread of weapons) were transferred.

However, the activities of individuals and companies on this list have nothing to do with North Korea’s weapons of mass destruction program.

If you are subject to sanctions under the Iran, North Korea, and Syrian non-proliferation laws, you will not be able to trade goods, technologies, and services with US government agencies and provide any assistance to them.

In addition, individual export permits for trading with them are also prohibited.

The measure went into effect on the 13th in the last week of the term of former US President Donald Trump and will remain in effect for the next two years unless there is any change.
