US Foreign Minister Antony Blinken on Tuesday asked his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov for a “verifiable, credible and significant de-escalation” at the Ukrainian border, according to a statement from the US State Department.

“He underlined that while any further Russian aggression against Ukraine would prompt a swift, severe and united transatlantic response, we remain committed to a diplomatic path and believe there remains an opportunity to resolve the crisis peacefully,” added the spokesman for the American diplomacy Ned Price after a new telephone call between the two ministers.
