US Defense Secretary Announces $200 Million Military Aid Package to Ukraine

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced a new $200 million military aid package to Ukraine, which will include air defense munitions, artillery and missile munitions, precision aircraft munitions, anti-tank weapons, and equipment to counter Russian drones.

Source: Austin at the opening of the 16th meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine (Ramstein format), European Pravda reports.

Direct speech: This brings total American liabilities to $43.9 billion since the start of Putin’s war.”

Details: He also said that he expects that at the meeting a number of countries will announce new aid packages for Ukraine.

Let us remind you: The relief package will be funded from money the Pentagon saved due to an accounting error. They allow weapons and ammunition to be sent to Kyiv, despite the exclusion of new aid to Ukraine from temporary spending billpassed by the House of Representatives over the weekend to prevent a shutdown.

Previously at the Pentagon statedthat the US Congress must approve additional funding so that the US can simultaneously provide necessary military assistance to Israel and Ukraine.

The Western press reported over the weekend that they want to approve Biden through Congress up to $100 billion for Ukraine.
