The Kremlin’s propaganda media spit nuclear war rhetoric amid growing tensions between Moscow and Washington.
According to the government, it also warned the Russian people to prepare for nuclear war.

The rhetoric is to reinforce the sense of urgency surrounding Russian President Vladimir Putin’s ultimatum to NATO.
Olga Skabeeva, host of state TV “60 Minutes” said: “The anxiety level has reached its maximum. We’re 20 days from the end of the ultimatum and the stakes are rising, although it doesn’t look like it could go any higher.”
Moscow last week submitted a draft Russia-US security agreement. Its contents are demands that NATO stop its military deployments in Europe and refuse membership in Ukraine and other former Soviet states.
The day after the submission of the draft agreement, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov threatened that Moscow would increase the stakes if the West did not take the demands seriously.
On Monday, Ryabkov told Interfax that Russia needs answers “immediately, because the situation is very difficult.”
