The relationship between China and the United States is quite tense, and now another circumstance will aggravate the situation between the two countries. U.S. officials are considering limiting China’s access to cloud services provided by U.S. companies with the goal of protecting cutting-edge technologies developed in the country and preventing China from dominating the technology space.
The new restrictions could most directly affect cloud service providers such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft. Accordingly, they will be restricted from providing services (MI) to solution developers in China. These and other US companies will first have to get government approval before offering their cloud services to Chinese customers.

It should be noted that the US government has already sought to ban American technology companies such as Nvidia from selling products such as chips specifically designed for AI applications to China. The reason here is quite simple – the US is concerned about Beijing’s progress in areas such as AI and that the Chinese government could use this technology to strengthen its influence around the world. But until now, Chinese companies could easily bypass these restrictions and train complex AI programs using AWS and Microsoft services, so now the US government has decided to go further and start restricting cloud services.
