US Congress Failure to Approve Aid to Ukraine Could Lead to Global Nuclear Weapons Programs: Sikorski

If the US Congress does not approve aid to Ukraine, the consequences will be felt throughout the world.

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski stated this in an interview Bloomberg. He explained that in this case, a number of countries would consider the possibility of developing nuclear weapons programs.

“If help is not provided, US allies will be disappointed and realize that Washington may not be able to help… this will have profound consequences for all US alliances around the world. Countries will begin to hedge themselves, and others will consider developing programs nuclear weapons,” the Polish minister spoke about his vision of the situation.

Sikorsky said that EU members will be able to fulfill the promise of a million artillery shells, which they planned to transfer to Ukraine by March. The minister clarified that the allies have already been able to collect about 850 thousand shells.

Problems with US help

Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson’s refusal to vote on a support bill, including $60 billion for Ukraine, is forcing congressmen to look for a “Plan B” to approve support for Ukraine.

At the same time, on February 16, President Vladimir Zelensky expects that the comprehensive support for Ukraine from the United States of America will not disappear anywhere.
