US condemns North Korea’s missile launch, calls for return to dialogue table

WASHINGTONUnited States of America (USA) condemned the launch of ballistic missiles by North Korea (Korut) and called on Pyongyang to return to the dialogue table. North Korea has carried out two ballistic missile launches in the past week.

US State Department spokesman Ned Price said the United States condemned North Korea’s missile launch, noting this missile launch violated several UN Security Council resolutions.

Meanwhile, Price said Washington was still committed to a diplomatic approach to Pyongyang to pursue the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

“We call on North Korea to engage in meaningful and substantive dialogue with us. We have been very clear in the message we convey to North Korea that we are ready to engage in that dialogue,” Price said, as reported by Xinhua on Thursday (16/9/2021). ).

The Joe Biden administration has repeatedly suggested that it seeks to engage with Pyongyang over the issue of denuclearization but has shown no willingness to ease sanctions.
